autotest / autospec failures

With a fresh clone from github (@ 7c46a6fed0fe1b5ff4319515b6eeb60464133ce5), the specs run fine with rake spec:
scott:webrat(master) scott$ rake spec (in
/Users/scott/src/git/webrat) ** README.txt is missing or in the
wrong format for auto-intuiting. run sow blah and look
at its text files
...............................................................................................................................
Finished in 0.747535 seconds
127 examples, 0 failures scott:webrat(master) scott$
But fails with the new "autospec" command, provided by rspec @ 1.1.5:
Maybe this is an rspec bug - I suppose something in the mocking framework is different when running autotest/autospec
